Why, why, why? Atleast three whys are excused for the disappointed person like me, who wasted ( I guess 'wasted' word does not signify the intensity of my emotion)..rather threw his money for watching the much awaited Don 2. I don't understand why these bollywood directors and producers feel happy in upbeating the expectation of movie-watchers like me and then digging us in the mud of hopeless despair. After the release of Don 1 I heard on some news channel Farhan Akhtar declaring the sequel. I mean, why didn't he searched for good script writer? His father have always been spotted at Award functions prominently listing out the flaws in Indian Cinema when it comes to Story. The movie has no story. There was no use of either Roma or Vardhan. But Farhan had promised the audience, so sequel needed both Priyanka and Boman. Now you may say I am missing Om Puri, but he had no role even in the first part, leave the sequel. You put some good foreign locations and some bomb-blasting stunts, you will get enough hooting in theatres, was may be the plan of Don 2 producers. Damn it, give us something worth watching, you morons!!!
There are evidently two kind of movies which brings real entertainment to audience. One which challenges the audience on intellectual level like Inception in hollywood or Swades in bollywood. Second category covers utter non sense, where audience is warned not to use their heads, movies such as Andaaz Apna Apna, Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahani. But when shahrukh tries to fuse both streams on screen, the music of Don plays in background and shahrukh throws a nonsense dialogue followed by pathetic quiver of voice (His typical signature popular in back 90s but pitiful now a days), the audience no doubt regrets their decision of watching the movie. I mean, what the heck about the music. Atleast Don 1 music was good, but this is too sadistic. Slow 80s music plays on which Shah Rukh praises himself. Before the theft at the bank, the team prepares their plan, during these scenes the music which plays in background suddenly defeats the lullaby my mother used to sing me in my childhood. The helplessness of the Roma to kill Don, whom she was searching for, relentlessly for 5 years, just because she still had the soft spot for him, gives final stamp on the pathetic script writing. And just for the sake of technology, they released Don 2 in 3d, moreover there is no prominent stunt in the movie which needs 3D effect. That must be some money making stratagy I guess.
Without story Dabaang was hit because Salman pulled it out somehow, but if Don 2 gets success on Box office, it will be solely because of the Don theme Amitabh Bacchan created decades ago and the innocence of Indian film audience. Just while writing this blog, I found on some filmy website, someone announced that in next diwali we can expect Don3, I say What the ...k!!!
